The Council is seeking to establish a Panel of Contractors ( i.e. Panel of 2-3 Contractors ) to deliver transport and assisted shopping services to older citizens living in the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters .Funding for these services is provided by the Australian Government through the Commonwealth Home Support Program. All recipients of these services reside within the Local Government Area of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters. These services form part of the Council’s Home Support Program, which has been operational for over 20 years and is designed to promote the well-being and independence of older citizens.

1. The Transport and Assisted Shopping Services provides a range of tailored services to meet the shopping needs of older citizens and includes:
2. Transport to the local shopping centre – A door-to-door service that transports clients to their local shopping centre to complete their shopping independently.
3. Escorted Shopping – A door-to-door service for clients who require support in completing their shopping. A support worker accompanies the client to the shopping centre and provides support throughout the shopping process.

Shopping List Service – Designed for clients who are unable to complete their shopping activities in person. A support worker completes the shopping on their behalf and delivers the items to their home.

These services are available on a weekly fortnightly basis or monthly basis.

Services operate five days a week, assisting approximately a maximum total of 50 residents per annum.
