Tender Description

City of Darwin’s NAIDOC Week and Reconciliation Week funding supports activities taking place during NAIDOC Week 2025 and Reconciliation Week 2026.

You can apply for $5,000 - $10,000 for your activity.

There is one round per year, providing $50,000 in funding.

Applicants must be First Nations Organisations that are registered with the NT Indigenous Business Network or Supply Nation.

NAIDOC Week (For activities between 6 July to 13 July 2025)

NAIDOC week is a week-long celebration held from 6 July to 13 July every year. It celebrates history, culture, and achievements of First Nations people. Every year NAIDOC Week has a theme, the theme for 2025 is "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”

Reconciliation Week 2026 (For activities between 27 May and 3 June 2026)

Reconciliation week is held from 27 May to 3 June every year. It is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements. It is a time dedicated to building positive, respectful relationships between Australians and celebrating First Nations Peoples' culture.

Important Dates

Applications open 1 March and close 31 March.

Due to grant timing this round is for NAIDOC Week 2025 6-13 July and Reconciliation Week 2026 27 May – 3 June.

Priority areas

Activities that:

Celebrate Larrakia or other First Nations achievements or history

  • Connect community and encourage participation.
  • Actively promote Reconciliation.
  • Have broad community engagement and participation

Eligibility

  • Organisations must be First Nations and should be registered with Northern Territory Indigenous Business Network or Supply Nation
  • Organisations must be incorporated not-for-profit, or auspiced by an incorporated organisation
  • Activities need to be completed during Reconciliation Week or NAIDOC Week
  • Activities must occur in the Darwin municipality
  • Activities must be inclusive and accessible
  • Applicants must not owe any reports or money to City of Darwin from previous funding or grants
  • Applicants must public liability insurance up to $20 million
