Tender Description

Pilbara Ports is developing the Lumsden Point General Cargo Facility and Logistics Hub (LGCF, Lumsden Point). The LCGF is a new multi-user facility and logistics hub that will facilitate activities including the export of critical minerals, the import of renewable energy infrastructure, import/export of general cargo, and the import of bulk liquids including fuel and chemicals. Lumsden Point is located at the southern end of the Port of Port Hedland, situated between South Creek and Southeast Creek, directly adjacent to Great Northern Highway.

The objective of Package 5b – Materials Handling System is to carry out the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning of the Materials Handling System (MHS) at Lumsden Point. The MHS includes the outload conveyor, transfer stations, shiploader and all associated infrastructure.

Site Visit

A site visit will be held at Pilbara Ports Administration Building (Hedland Tower), The Esplanade, Port Hedland on 26 Mar, 2025 10:00 AM.

This is a mandatory tender briefing and site visit.Tenderers are required to register a maximum of two (2) participants for the site visit. Tenderers will be allowed to attend the mandatory tender briefing online provided at least one of their participants attends the mandatory site visit in person.

An agenda will be distributed to those who register by the deadline.

Tenderers must ensure that when visiting the Site, its personnel do so in accordance with PPA’s safety and other requirements. The Tenderer is required to wear full Personal Protective Clothing and Equipment (PPE) during the site visit. Full PPE consists of safety footwear; safety helmet (hard hat); safety glasses with side shields to AS/NZS 1337 standard; high visibility clothing; long sleeve shirt and trousers; protective clothing as necessary and hearing protection as necessary.

Tenderers must provide their own vehicles for the site visit fitted with an operational roof mounted amber flashing light and a 2 way radio. It is also preferable that the vehicle is 4WD.
