In undertaking work on the Neerabup Resource Recovery Precinct (NRRP) Masterplan, the City identified a need for an interim solution to transfer its waste prior to the NRRP being commissioned. The Wangara Recycling Centre (former Materials Recycling Facility) has been identified as the site for the interim solution; design work for a transfer station has progressed. As part of the project development work, partial demolition of the existing structure is required.

The structure contains plant & equipment of the former recycling facility, which is to be removed and scrapped as part of the demolition works. The plant and equipment have been valued and is considered having no saleable value, other than as scrap metal.
