Whaleback Golf Course
40 Whaleback Ave, Parkwood WA 6145
The driving range currently has 36 of the 42 bays equipped with Toptracer Range technology.
Approximately 100,000 customers are using the driving range each year, with over 9,000,000 balls hit. During the busiest periods, the range can see over 40,000 balls hit in a single day. Improvements in 2025 will see the layout of the driving range changed to 39 standard bays and 9 bays in a dedicated entertainment bay area (Attachment 2a & 2b). The new layout is expected to see the number of balls hit per annum to approximately 12,000,000.
Netting to a minimum height of 36 metres will be installed on all sides of the driving range in March 2025. The length of the driving range will be reduced from 210 metres to approximately 180 metres during that work.
The City is now seeking a suitably qualified and reputable company to provide ball tracking technology to the driving range at Whaleback. The successful contractor must demonstrate the necessary experience, expertise, and capacity to fulfill the City's requirements and users of the range.
The City is looking for a solution that provides technical data to satisfy seasoned golfers whilst providing interactive and gamified entertainment experiences, including content for different skill levels and player preferences.
The ball tracking system must be able to track balls accurately from all 48 mats on two levels, 39 standard bays and 9 bays in a multi-functional entertainment bay layout.
Approximately 12,000,000 balls are forecast to be hit per annum in the new layout.
The range lighting will be upgraded, and roof mounted in early 2025 as per the Attachment 1.
Each responded will be provided an opportunity to showcase/present their technology to the panel for up to 90 minutes. An appointment time will be allocated to each registered party.
The resultant contract will be awarded to a single contractor to satisfy all requirements. The term of the contract will be five (5) years from the commencement date.
All electronic submissions files shall be clearly named with the City's Tender Number as stated above and the Tenderer's Name; and lodged by the specified time and date.
Any Respondent found to have canvassed City of Canning officers or elected members will be disqualified from the tender process.
