Project goals
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) has installed 61 full body scanners within 5 CSNSW locations state-wide including 12 metro locations and 13 regional locations. New scanners may be installed from time to time, and the current scanners need to be appropriately managed in compliance with legislation. CSNSW has established an approved training course in radiation safety, which may need to be reviewed and updated from time to time.
Provide guidance as subject matter expert (SME) regarding:
· annual review/update of CSNSW radiation management documentation, radiation practices, radiation dosage monitoring to ensure compliance with legislation and licensing requirements;
· response to guidance on CSNSW specific work practices using the apparatus;
· support and participation in stakeholder engagement regarding using apparatus;
· expert guidance and quality assurance on scanning operations;
· review and analysis of literature and emerging trends in radiation safety space within NSW;
· support and in the development of safety, image analysis and compliance, continual improvement strategies for existing body scanning operations.
Scope
Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) operates radiation apparatus across a number of locations state-wide and must comply with legislative, regulatory, and licensing obligations.
Specialist services are required for the implementation, management and review of radiation apparatus and practices, including (but not limited to):
Radiation Apparatus (equipment):
· Testing of newly installed or relocated radiation apparatus, including regulatory compliance certification.
· Undertaking radiation dose calculations and radiation safety surveillance.
Radiation framework:
· Auditing and provision of advice on practices and compliance with relevant legislation, licensing, and codes of safe practice.
· Development and review of radiation management documentation.
· Review of training materials used for staff to obtain relevant qualification and/or licensing to operate radiation apparatus.
· Delivery of training for staff to obtain qualification and licensing to operate radiation apparatus.
Review of X-ray body scanner equipment/ scanning spaces. Including undertaking sample testing, test newly installed or relocated equipment where applicable; verification of scanner output, location and radiation hygiene considerations; site surveys of proposed locations for installation including shielding plans where applicable to locations within NSW.

Each supplier will be required to attend only one (1) briefing & site inspection.
Attendance at the briefing & site inspection is mandatory for intending respondents. Offers from Respondents who did not attend the briefing & site inspection will not receive consideration.
