Meaningful Use dashboard rebuild:
Adoption of digital health solutions in Australia has increased significantly over the past 3-years, as evidenced by significant growth in the usage of the My Health Record system by both consumers and providers of healthcare. With significantly more growth in the use of My Health Record expected over the coming years, it is crucial to have a detailed understanding how the My Health Record plays a role in healthcare delivery, and how consumers and healthcare providers interact with their (and their patients’) health information to provide value for all Australians.
The 'Meaningful Use' dashboard is an important tool for evaluating how consumers and healthcare providers interact with information on the My Health Record at a granular level. Utilising primarily transactional data from the My Health Record system and enriching it using publicly and non-publicly available data, the Agency uses the PowerBI dashboard to calculate standardised measures of My Health Record adoption and usage that help inform decision-making.
Some of these measures include (but are not limited to):
- Population standardised measures (i.e., estimated resident population)
- Allocation of adoption and usage to various ABS structures, such as PHN, remoteness areas etc. for more granular insights
The Agency is seeking quotation to optimise and augment the current implementation of the Meaningful Use dashboard in PowerBI and the corresponding transformation logic in Databricks orchestrated by ADF. This includes (but is not limited to):
- Optimising existing pipelines. Updating the existing logic and transformations to produce a fully optimised, scalable, and maintainable pipeline leveraging ADF for orchestration and Databricks for transformation.
- Leveraging existing analytical layers with the objective of a single source of truth or alternatively producing an analytical layer designed, modelled, and documented as per industry best practice and agency requirements.
- Ensuring best practice and warehouse hygiene i.e. clean-up and archival of any redundant processes and artefacts in the warehouse
- Development of a test and validation framework. A testing framework that ensures consistent results across parallel and historical runs with an automated validation process to accommodate future testing requirements.
- Improving performance and cost efficiency. Reconfiguring the pipeline to be optimised for both time and cost, ensuring that the pipeline is efficient and scalable according to best practices
- Comprehensive documentation to ensure the pipelines and transformations are well understood, maintainable, and accessible for future improvements
