Panel for Steel Fabrication (Structural Steel, Work Platforms, MSCL and Stainless Steel Pipes, Guard Rails, Bus Shelter, Fencing, Steel Bollards, Outdoor Furniture, Sheds, Street Litter Bins, etc.) and other Steel and Metal Related Maintenance Services

SCOPE OF WORKS / REQUIREMENTS:

The City of PAE intends to have multiple Suppliers on the Supplier Panel able to provide:

• Maintenance / repair works that involves steel fabrication and repair

• Capital renewal/ new works of bus shelter, fencing, outdoor shed, sportingsheds 

The maximum value of a particular project covered in this tender is $500,000.00.

The City of PAE may elect to organise the Supplier Panel comprising of multiple contractors and will be assessed on the capacity, capability and experience of each Supplier based on:

• Information provided in the Supplier’s EOI and through any subsequent part of the Procurement Process

• The City of PAE’s assessment of that information

Contractors and/or suppliers can nominate all or any particular work of expertise from below indicative works.

Contractor may also offer other alternate services related to works below.

Indicative Works include:

• Fabrication, connection, welding, grouting and erection of structural steel, guard rails and work platforms for council stormwater pump stations

• Fabrication, connection, welding and erection of MSCL and Stainless Pipelines for stormwater Pump Stations

• Supply of materials, surface preparation and application of protective coatings to metal surfaces

• Supply and installation of fencing, gates and associated works

• Supply and installation of timber and/or steel bollards including EAB (Energy Absorbing Bollards), Rigid Bollards, Architectural Steel Bollards, etc.

• Steel and install of steel box culverts, stormwater grates, stormwater outlets

• Supply and installation of outdoor sheds and coach boxes

• Supply and installation of security cover frame for irrigation pumps and other ancillary

• Repair and maintenance of existing council assets that are made from steel and metal in nature

• Maintenance services (e.g. cleaning, painting, welding, etc.) and all other related works that require a skilled labourer to undertake steel works (welding, grouting, coatings, etc.)

• Supply and install of street furniture (e.g. bike racks, steel and metal artworks, benches, street litter bins, and street litter bin posts etc.)

• Supply and Installation of Bus Shelter including but not limited to:

a) The successful contractor nominating for this work will be required to provide a full bus shelter service package. This includes supplying and installing a new public bus shelter that meets Australian Standards, is DDA-compliant, and follows DIT’s Bus Infrastructure Design Guidelines. The contractor will also be responsible for demolishing and removing the existing bus shelter. They must coordinate with Council, DIT, and the South Australian Public Transport Authority to ensure compliance and obtain approval.

b) The contractor must be able to perform Dial Before You Dig, locate services, saw cut, and excavate and dispose the existing surface (whether concrete, paved or grass). They will also need to prepare the basecourse and install new concrete strip footings and/or a full pad slab. The installation must include concrete directional and hazard tactiles, as well as a signage pole in line with DIT's bus stop pad layouts.

c) A notification letter must be sent to inform affected property owners and traffic management during the works and ongoing aftercare must be arranged. The contractor will need to coordinate on-site pedestrian and/or vehicle access to minimize disruption and put up appropriate detour signage for bus passengers. Additionally, the contractor must prepare a site-specific Safe Work Method Statement and ensure all work meets Work Health and Safety requirements

Contractors and Suppliers are expected to manage specific projects/works with autonomy by providing their own WHS Procedures on site including temporary traffic management and safety signs as required.

Further Projects specific information will be provided to Suppliers at the time of requesting Schedule of Rates / Fee

Proposals. The number of and value of Projects made available to the Supplier Panel will be dependent on:

• The City of PAE’s Annual Capital Works Program

• External funding

• Priority rating of Projects

Please note that the value of Works available each year will fluctuate and is not guaranteed. The City of PAE will also be reserving the right to go to the open market for specific projects where it determines that that is the most appropriate approach.
