Upper Hutt City Councils Sportsfield Preparation and Maintenance 2025 - 2028. This contract is for the sportsfields managed by the City Council including the maintenance of artificial surfaces, premium sand carpet fields and general sportsfields areas for the community covering a range of sporting codes.

The contract is for a 3+1+1.

This is a Lump Sum Contract for the preparation and maintenance of the various sportsfields training areas and artificial sport surfaces in the Upper Hutt parks, to the standards set herein.

There are some areas of some parks which have been extended to provide a uniform appearance of maintenance.

The Sportsfields are divided into three categories and reference is made to these Categories throughout the Specification.

Category One:

The No.1 playing fields for senior play all require a higher standard of maintenance.

These fields are:

• Maidstone Park. – All of grass Sportsfields
• Whakatiki Park No.1 – League
• Whakatiki Park Softball Skin
• Trentham Memorial Park Barton Oval - Cricket
• Trentham Memorial Park No.1 – Cricket

Category Two:

The general playing fields for all other levels of play require maintenance to an appropriate level including training areas.

Category Three:

The artificial sportsfields at Maidstone Park and cricket strips at Trentham Memorial Park and Heretaunga Park.

The Contractor shall be deemed to have inspected all the areas and shall accept all areas in their current condition at the time of being awarded the contract, and Tenderers shall allow in their price for this and to bring all up to the required standard of maintenance were necessary.

Note: Maidstone Parks artificial multi turf field is currently being refurbished and will be operational from April 2025.

The Contractor shall supply all the plant, materials and labour to carry out the work except infill’s for the artificial turfs and topdressing material for Maidstone sand carpet.

The Maidstone Park Sand Carpet fields shall be priced separately on the schedule of prices.
