ABOUT THE TENDER
In 2026 University of Adelaide (UoA) and University of South Australia (UniSA) will commence operating as a single, new entity - Adelaide University (AU). As part of this, the North Terrace/City East campuses for both universities will become one campus known as Adelaide City Campus (eastern precinct). Further information on the new university for South Australia can be found at the Adelaide University website, notably the vision statement and transition plan.
The key outcome of this project is to deliver full- phase services for upgrades along the interface of the two existing campuses. The upgrades must be simple, low-cost initiatives that are able to be delivered (construction completed) by January 2026, which is day 1 for the new University.
The design objective is to enhance end-user, campus experience through improved:
a) circulation and connectivity; implementing initiatives that reinforce paths of travel improving wayfinding eliminating barriers to reinforce the message of one connected campus.
b) activation and place making; activating underutilised areas use of artwork and interpretive elements
c) aesthetic upgrade ; Upgrade of existing infrastructure that is in poor condition.
Three site locations have been identified along the interface where works are to occur. These sites mark key intersection points of pedestrian movement linking the primary UniSA Level 3 student spaces with the primary UoA Level 3 and 4 student spaces.
Recommendation and agreement of priorities and distribution of project funds (working to a maximum budget) across these sites, forms part of the scope of consultancy services for this project.
