The existing Canal Bridge, Tamarind Drive Ballina, is a two-lane structure that often reaches capacity, especially during peak hours, which makes it a significant congestion point for one of Ballina’s main evacuation routes during flood events. To alleviate this issue, a second bridge will be constructed on the eastern side of the current bridge.

Council is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Contractor to construct the Principal’s design for the embankment and preload for the duplication of Canal Bridge over North Creek Canal on Tamarind Drive, Ballina. These works will form part of the Early Works required for the duplication of Canal Bridge with Tamarind Drive roadworks, which will be a separate Contract.

The project will be delivered under a GC21 Contract, in accordance with the General Conditions of Contract, outlined in the sample Contract Documents.
