The Fisheries & Aquaculture Division within the Department of Primary Industries & Regions (PIRSA) is seeking a supplier to provide independent observer coverage to the South Australian Sardine Commercial Fishery for 2025-26, with extension options in place for services to continue to the 2029-30 financial year.
The commercial South Australian Sardine Fishery (SASF) requires observer coverage by an independent supplier aboard commercial fishing vessels. Observers record the required information on the South Australian Sardine Fishery Threatened, Endangered and Protected Species (TEPS) Observer Logbook forms provided regarding interactions with TEPS and Sardine samples. The observer role also requires a high level of integrity for the collection of Sardine catch samples, which contributes to the South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI) stock assessments for the fishery.
