Essential Energy is seeking proposals from suppliers qualified to complete building works to rebuild the existing awning of the southern side of the warehouse shed at Tweed Heads Depot.

Project goals

The Tweed Heads awning replacement project aims to critically replace the truck parking awning structure attached to the main stores shed at the Tweed Heads Depot/Zone Substation. Being only approximately 3km from the shoreline with high exposure to the effects of coastal weather, the building has deterioration. The existing awning has suffered extensive corrosion, compromising the integrity of the roof purlins, roof sheets, and fascia. Small sections of corroded steel beams have been observed falling, posing a WHS risk and a high likelihood of damage to the fleet.
