Overview
The aim of the SVPRF Grants Program is to increase and strengthen evidence based sexual violence prevention and response projects in the NT and aligns with the following outcome areas in the Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Framework:
• Outcome 1: Sexual violence is recognised, understood, prevented and not tolerated.
• Outcome 2: Children and young people who experience sexual violence are safe, and supported to heal.
• Outcome 3: Adults who experience sexual violence are safe and supported to heal.
Two projects will be funded under this grant with the total funding pool being $0.9 million over 3 years. Applicants are able to apply for up to $0.45 million for projects of a three-year duration, receiving $0.15 million per annum. Applications can include 3-year projects that:
• Are new programs, or
• Pre-existing programs wanting to strengthen or expand their reach.
• Educate the community about sexual violence and protective behaviours by:
o including sexual violence awareness raising in the Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) community awareness campaign and primary prevention approach. o working with communities to develop place- based community awareness campaigns so sexual violence is recognised, understood, prevented and not tolerated.
• Co-design local place-based prevention and healing responses with Aboriginal organisations and communities.
• Support healing from the trauma and intergenerational trauma of sexual violence.
Applications must demonstrate how projects meet the following principles of the SVPRF and the DFSV Framework:
• Women and children’s safety and wellbeing is at the centre
• Shared responsibility, partnerships and local responses
• Evidence and needs-based and outcomes-focused
• Accessibility, equity and responsiveness
• Focus on long term social and cultural change
