Tender Description

The Australian Government is inviting this organisation to apply to deliver services under Program 2.5 Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program within Outcome 2 from 2025 to 2026.

The purpose and objectives of the Multicultural Affairs and Citizenship Program are to:

  • support small culturally diverse community organisations and groups in Australia that provide cultural activities, and community programs and events
  • build upon Australia’s multicultural success with a particular focus on building social cohesion
  • encourage new migrants to participate in events which promote Australian values and liberal democracy
  • enable interaction between new migrants and local elected members of government, such as councillors, mayors, and Commonwealth, state and territory Members of Parliament to encourage greater participation in civic life in Australia.

The purpose of the grant is to upgrade the Sydney Jewish Museum for the creation of the Centre of Jewish Life and Tolerance to enhance understanding of Jewish history and combat antisemitism. The museum possesses direct links and in-depth knowledge of the Jewish Community throughout Australia. The Museum’s long history and proximity within Sydney means that it is uniquely placed to share the history of Jewish people in Australia and overseas to a wide audience.
