Are you a clinical professional passionate about improving healthcare in Western Queensland? WQPHN is seeking experienced clinicians to join the Care Governance Committee (CGC)—a vital advisory body that ensures primary healthcare services are safe, effective, and person-centred.

About the Committee

The CGC plays a key role in advising the WQPHN Board and Executive Management Team on clinical governance matters, ensuring that primary healthcare services are delivered in alignment with WQPHN’s Care Governance Framework. The Committee collaborates with Primary Care stakeholders to support regional healthcare priorities and risk management strategies.

Your Role as a CGC Member

  • Advise on healthcare governance and quality improvement
  • Identify service risks and recommend solutions
  • Support clinical pathway development based on community needs
  • Provide leadership in innovation, digital health, and primary care engagement
  • Advise on relevant research partnerships and strategies

Who Should Apply?

We’re looking for a diverse group of clinical professionals who:

  • Have relevant experience in primary care or related fields
  • Are actively engaged in their clinical communities
  • Can commit to four meetings per year (virtual attendance possible)
  • Bring unique perspectives, including Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and other diverse groups
  • Have reliable internet access and IT equipment

What is the commitment?

Committee Composition & Meetings

  • The CGC consists of up to 15 members, including clinical experts, Primary Care representatives, and WQPHN executives.
  • Meetings are held four times per year and will be attended virtually.
