The South Waikato District Council (SWDC) is undertaking a critical Watermain Renewal Programme to ensure the reliability and efficiency of its water infrastructure. The primary activity in this project involves the installation of approximately 10.07 km of new water mains and rider mains across the district’s four townships: Tokoroa, Putāruru, Tirau, and Arapuni.

The project focuses on renewing aging and deteriorating water reticulation assets located primarily in urban and residential areas. In certain cases, the work will intersect with State Highways, requiring engagement with NZTA for traffic management planning. Additionally, one section involves installation under the Kinleith branch railway, necessitating coordination with KiwiRail

The contract follows a 2+1-year model, with extensions subject to annual performance against KPIs.
