Tender Description

Overview

The Melbourne & Olympic Parks precinct is Australia’s centre stage for live sports, music, and entertainment. Home to six world-class venues – Rod Laver Arena, Margaret Court Arena, John Cain Arena, AAMI Park, Kia Arena, and CENTREPIECE at Melbourne Park – the precinct welcomes more than 2.8 million guests to over 500 events annually, including Australia’s world-famous Grand Slam tennis tournament, the Australian Open.

The precinct is managed by The Melbourne and Olympic Parks Trust (M&OP), a statutory authority established on 5 October 1995 in accordance with the provisions of the Melbourne & Olympic Parks Act 1985.

The Opportunity

Expression of interest are invited from appropriately experienced registered electrical contractors to be shortlisted for the Electrical Maintenance Services tender for Melbourne and Olympic Parks.

Service Providers may elect to submit a EOI for all services under the scope of works or just for the following services.

  • Preventative, Reactive and Corrective Maintenance
  • Electrical Event Support Services
  • UPS Maintenance Services
  • Exit & Emergency Lighting Services
  • Test & Tag Services
  • Lighting Control Systems

M&OP reserves the right to decide whether to enter into an agreement for all services, partially, or not at all, at its sole discretion.

Process Overview

The process for M&OP will be a competitive procurement process and will include two stages.

Stage 1 – a call for Expressions of Interest and shortlisting of suitable Suppliers

Stage 2– an invitation to shortlisted Suppliers to submit a Request for Tender, ending in the selection of one or more suitable Suppliers.

Stage 1 Expression of Interest

At this stage interested parties are invited to submit their credentials to supply the requested services.

An evaluation and selection panel will assess the submissions received in response to this call for Expression of Interest, responses to evaluation and identify those companies who will be shortlisted and subsequently invited to submit a Request for Tender.

Stage 2: Invitation to Request for Tender

This stage will be a formal competitive tender by invitation.

It is anticipated that respondents shortlisted from the EOI stage will be invited to respond to a Request for Tender, which will include a detailed scope of work and a request to submit a detailed proposal and schedule of rates. The Request for Tender will provide, among other things, detailed selection criteria, time details, detailed specification of the required service and any additional information that is deemed relevant to the tender.

Nominated shortlisted tenderers may be required to attend a site visit or a short interview /presentation/Q&A session following submission of their tender.

The works are to be delivered with a critical emphasis on quality, delivery, and customer service and carry out the work to industry recognised standard.
