Via the Hope Research Fund, Lung Foundation Australia is pleased to invite applications from early career researchers for the 2025 Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant for Respiratory Research. Valued at $5,000 (+ GST) over a maximum of 1 year.
The Lung Foundation Australia – Ludwig Engel Grant-in-Aid in Respiratory Research was established in 1992 in memory of Professor Ludwig Engel. Professor Engel was a distinguished Respiratory Physiologist who made an outstanding contribution to respiratory science and medicine both through his owns endeavours and influence on his colleagues. This Grant is made possible through the generous financial contributions from his many colleagues and donations made by the pharmaceutical and medical technology industries and the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
Health professionals and early to mid-career researchers with a special interest in respiratory medicine research are invited to apply. Grant funding will commence post-notification in Q1 2025. Grant funds may be used to supplement other sources of research funding – see Terms and Conditions for more information.
Projects which further focus on priority populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, are highly encouraged and will be viewed favorably.
