Supply and delivery of 2 new ballast cleaners that meet TfNSW'S Asset Management Branch standards, ensuring compatibility with Sydney Trains' Technical Specifications for the rail network.

Project goals

Sydney Trains is seeking a reputable contractor to collaborate with to ensure successful delivery of 2 ballast cleaning systems, adhering to key milestones, performance indicators, and innovation in delivery to support Sydney Trains' long-term operational efficiency and safety objectives. Australian industry involvement is a priority. The contractor will work to maximise the Australian content in the manufacture testing in New South Wales. Dynamic testing, commissioning and training are to be performed on Sydney Trains sites and rail network.

Scope

The contractor shall supply 2 identical modern replacement ballast cleaners that will comply with all relevant Transport for NSW (TfNSW) Asset Management Branch (AMB) standards. The scope includes a comprehensive plan for testing, commissioning, and compliance with operational and safety requirements. The contractor shall provide all necessary documentation including operator manual and maintainer manual, and provide training for Sydney Trains personnel to ensure the safe and effective operation and maintenance of the new ballast cleaners. The contractor is responsible for achieving TOC and network registration to operate on the Sydney Trains Rail Network. The equipment should be equipped with safety, environmental, and operational features, including noise reduction, dust suppression, and fuel efficiency, to meet modern safety and environmental regulations.
